Pitjau is an ingenious and simple indoor ball game that is fun for all ages. As a new board game for adults and children aged 6 and over, it's perfect for game nights with friends and family, but also as an office game during lunch breaks with work colleagues. Or as a fun throwing game for children at school, as Pitjau brings energy and competition to school sports and club training. It helps pupils to develop their motor and reactive skills while having fun. The game is perfect for warming up and encourages movement, precision and teamwork.
Pitjau was born out of a dream to develop a fun indoor game that is easy to learn and gets everyone moving, but without jeopardising objects standing around while playing. Pitjau can be played with the family in the living room, with colleagues in the office, with pupils in PE lessons or as a lively warm-up game in the sports club. This new, sensational ball game is suitable for all age groups and situations where community and movement are central. As the air ball weighs less than 5g and has a small diameter of 13 cm, even first-graders can play with it without any problems. The height of the ring pole is adjustable (184 cm, 212 cm, 240 cm) and can be adapted to the height of the players. The ring itself has a diameter of 60 cm.You can play the ball game both indoors and outdoors and best of all: with the practical carry bag, you can take the indoor (and outdoor) throwing game with you and enjoy it anytime, anywhere. The bag including the game weighs just 0.8 kg and measures 43 x 25 cm. This also makes it the perfect hotel party game on holiday. And as the air ball weighs almost nothing, nothing can break in the room, no matter where you play.Pitjau contains elements of various ball games and its shape is reminiscent of Quidditch, which is sure to delight all Harry Potter fans. It only takes a few minutes to set up and a game can be played in just five minutes. Pitjau can be played in many ways: Challenge a colleague to a 1v1 duel at lunchtime for a quick mental break and some exercise; get the whole family together in the living room for a fun ‘ROUND THE RING’ round, or motivate your students to take part in a 2v2 tournament in the gym to get the pulse racing and create a lively atmosphere.
What are the Pitjau rules?
At least 2 people are required for this fun parlour game for ages 6 and up. At the start of the game, one person briefly inflates the ball so that the game can begin. After that, the ball inflates itself again with every hit (see video). Now comes the serve: the ball must be below the ring when it is served and pass through the ring in one stroke. You have two attempts - the ball must not touch the ring as it flies through and you must stand at least 1 metre away from the ring.
After the serve, the player/team has three strokes to hit the ball back through the ring. You can use your whole body to do this (knee, foot, elbow, etc.). But important: The players must not touch the pole or the ring at any time! If the ball hits the ring and bounces back, you can shoot it back through the ring with a maximum of three shots (but it must not touch the ring again).
As a general rule, if you are less than 1 metre away from the ring and hit the ball, you may only hit straight ahead or upwards - downwards is not permitted. What is always forbidden: Blocking the ball from the other side so that it does not go through the ring. You can find full instructions for the game here.
